BLOGS

A blog is a type of online journal that is available to a selected group of users.  Blogs can be very useful in a school system, specifically for teachers.  This is an easy way for teachers to give students a syllabus for the year, and agenda for the week, and/or what to expect for each day.  It also allows the teachers to inform the parents of what was accomplished in the classroom on a daily basis.  All subscribers of the blog are able to make comments and ask questions.  This way, it is an open online forum for everyone involved in the educational process to utilize.

Web 2.0

Web 2.0 is a way for people to communicate with and instruct each other via the world wide web.  It is extremely user friendly because it features tools and gadgets that allow users to edit and send information easily.  This system is especially convenient for online instruction and communicating with students, teachers, and/or parents that may be far away.

As the rising generation is definitely more dependent on technology for instruction, web 2.0 is a tool for necessary utilization for teachers.  This is a method in which teachers can communicate with the parents of their students to let them know what is being taught in their classroom and what their children may need to work on.  It is also a good way for students and parents to give their teachers feedback on how well things are going and ask questions that may not have been thoroughly explained in the classroom.

Here is just an idea for why web 2.0 is important and is a good idea for use in the classroom.
